About simple/tv/cal

simple/tv/cal is a free TV show tracker built around a calendar. You follow the shows you watch, and every episode of them, already aired or still scheduled, appears in a month grid you can browse, mark off, and sync to your own calendar.

Who makes it

It is built and run by Lyubo, an independent developer, as a personal project rather than a company or a startup. There is no team, no investors, and no business model behind it. That is worth knowing when you decide whether to keep your watch history here: the guide explains how to export everything to CSV at any time, and you should.

Why it exists

Most trackers are built as lists. That works for deciding what to watch next, but it answers the wrong question when what you actually want to know is what is on this week, which show comes back this month, and whether you have fallen behind. A calendar answers those directly, so the calendar is the home screen here and everything else is arranged around it.

The second reason is that tracking apps keep disappearing. TV Time shut down in July 2026 and took a decade of watch histories with it unless people exported in time. Anything you put into simple/tv/cal can be pulled back out as a CSV in the same format the importer accepts, and deleting your account really deletes it.

Where the data comes from

Show details, episode lists, air dates, artwork, and streaming availability come from TMDB. Ratings come from IMDb through OMDb, so what you see is the actual IMDb score rather than a number invented here. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

How it is paid for

Out of pocket, and it is deliberately built to stay cheap: show data is cached and shared between everyone using the site rather than fetched per person. There are no ads, no trackers beyond basic hosting analytics, and nothing about your viewing is sold or shared. The privacy policy spells out exactly what is stored and who processes it.
