Sort My shows by IMDb rating, either way round

Update

  • Every show on My shows has its IMDb rating next to its name.
  • My shows can now sort by IMDb rating.
  • Every sort on My shows can run either way: newest or oldest first, highest or lowest rated first, A to Z or Z to A. Shows without a date or a rating stay at the bottom.

IMDb ratings in more places, richer seasons and new stats

Update

  • Each season on Unwatched now shows its average IMDb rating next to the season heading.
  • Every show on My shows lists its seasons' average IMDb ratings under its progress, with a small bar for each season and the best season highlighted.
  • On a show's page, each season's heading shows its average IMDb rating, collapsed or open, and the best-rated season is highlighted.
  • Season headings on a show's page also show the season poster, a small bar per episode by rating with the best episode, when the season aired (or when its next episode or premiere is due), its runtime or time left, and a thin progress line. Opening a season shows its synopsis.
  • A season's average covers every rated episode in it, watched or not, and appears once at least two of its episodes are rated. Hover it to see how many episodes it counts.
  • Stats has your followed shows' average IMDb rating, and your top 10 shows and top 10 episodes by IMDb rating.
  • Also new on Stats: the best-rated episodes still in your backlog, the best-rated shows on your watchlist, each show's best season, the actors, creators and directors you see most across your shows, your shows by decade, and where they stream.
  • Episodes now show who directed them, on a show's page, in Next to watch and on Unwatched, filling in over the coming weeks as shows refresh.
  • Hovering an episode in the calendar's Upcoming list shows its description.
  • Actors you see most counts everyone with 3 or more episodes in a show, not only its top-billed stars, filling in over the coming weeks as shows refresh. When an actor's shows do not fit on one line, Show all lists them all.

Changelog is now News

News

What used to be the Changelog is now News, up in the header next to Stats. Besides new features it will carry anything else worth knowing about the site.

When there is something you have not read yet, News is highlighted in the header until you open it on any of your devices.

Faster sign-in, an account menu, and episode runtimes

Update

  • Opening simple/tv/cal while you are signed in goes straight to your calendar, instead of showing the empty sign-in form first.
  • Your calendar starts loading while you are being signed back in, rather than after.
  • Your email at the bottom of the page now opens a menu with everything about your account: Calendar subscription, Time zone, Export CSV, Delete account and Sign out.
  • Episode lists on Unwatched and on each show's page, and a show's Next to watch, now show the episode's runtime next to its title, where it is known.

Episodes on your local day, with release times

Update

  • Dates now follow your time zone. A show released on a Tuesday evening in the US, like Ted Lasso, lands on Wednesday in Europe instead of a day early.
  • Release times appear wherever they are known: the selected day panel, the Tonight strip, the Upcoming list, and upcoming episodes on a show's page. Episodes on the same day are listed in release order.
  • Time zone, in the footer, follows your device automatically, or you can pick a zone to keep on every device.
  • Shows without a known release time get a Dates setting on their page, to move them a day if the listed date is off for you.
  • Your calendar subscription uses your time zone too, with the release time in each event.
  • Release times come from Trakt.

Specials

Update

  • A show's specials now have their own section at the bottom of its page, with their own watched count and a Mark all watched button.
  • Specials never count toward progress, next to watch, Unwatched or stats, so a pile of extras does not make a finished show look incomplete.
  • Show on calendar, in a show's Specials section, puts its dated specials on your calendar and in your calendar subscription, marked Special.
  • CSV export includes watched specials, and CSV import reads them back.
