How to track TV shows and episodes
simple/tv/cal is a free TV show tracker built around a calendar: follow a show and every one of its episodes, past and future, lands in a month grid you can browse. This page walks through each part of the app. You can read it before signing up - nothing here is behind an account.
Calendar
The home view: every episode of the shows you follow, past and future, in a month grid. The Tonight strip on top answers what airs tonight, or points to the next episode day. Pick a day to see its episodes and mark them watched (the grid also works with the arrow keys), browse what's next in the Upcoming list, and use the Coming soon chips to jump to a season premiere or a watchlist debut. Shows on your Watchlist appear too, in teal, on the day a brand-new series airs its very first episode. The selected day is part of the page address, so refreshing or sharing the link opens the same day. On phones the grid becomes a scrollable day strip with a day-by-day list from today onward.
Add show
Search any TV show and follow it, or save it to your Watchlist for later. Following adds all of its episodes to your calendar and progress tracking.
Unwatched
Your backlog: aired episodes you haven't watched yet, grouped by show, with the total catch-up time. Mark episodes watched one by one or a whole season at once.
My shows
Everything you follow, with progress and air dates. Sort, filter, and search, or unfollow a show (this also clears its progress).
Watchlist
Shows you're interested in but don't follow yet. Following a show moves it out of the Watchlist. Sort by Upcoming to see only the shows still waiting to debut, soonest first, with undated announcements last.
Stats
Your statistics: watch time by show and network, overall completion, and watched episodes by air year.
Undo and saving
Bulk marks on a show's page (mark a season or the whole show watched, clear all) show a toast with an Undo button for a few seconds. If a change can't reach the server - offline, flaky connection - the app says so instead of failing silently, and syncs when you're back.
Light and dark theme
The moon/sun button in the header switches between the light and the dark theme. Until you use it, the app follows your device's setting; after that, your choice sticks on this device.
Archive
Archiving (from My shows or Unwatched) keeps a show followed and on your calendar but removes it from the Unwatched backlog. Good for shows you keep an eye on without catching up.
Hide
Hiding an episode (or a whole season in Unwatched) keeps it out of the backlog without marking it watched. Good for specials or seasons you plan to skip. Unhide restores it.
Refresh
Show data updates automatically, but the Refresh button on a show's page (for shows you follow or have on your Watchlist) re-fetches episodes, air dates, and IMDb ratings from the sources right away. It can be used once per minute per show.
Import
Import a CSV (from Trakt, TV Time, or a spreadsheet) via Add show to bulk-follow shows and mark your watched history in one go.
Export CSV
The Export CSV link in the footer (once signed in) downloads your followed shows and watch status in the same format the import accepts - use it as a backup or to move to another site.
Calendar subscription
The Calendar subscription link in the footer (once signed in) gives you a private feed URL. Subscribe to it and every episode - plus the debut of every show on your Watchlist premiering within the next year - shows up as an all-day event in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, or any app that takes an iCal address, updating automatically. Keep the URL private, and reset it there if it ever leaks.
Delete account
The Delete account link in the footer (once signed in) permanently removes your account and all of its data after confirming your password. Consider Export CSV first.
