Privacy policy

Who we are

simple/tv/cal (stvcal.com) is a free TV show tracker run by its individual operator. For anything privacy-related, email us at contact@stvcal.com (see the contact page). Signed-in users can also use the contact form in the site footer, and we reply to the sign-in email.

What we collect

• Account: your email address and password. Authentication is handled by Firebase; we never see or store your password itself, only Firebase's secure representation of it.
• Your library: the shows you follow, episodes you mark watched or hidden, your watchlist, and archive flags.
• Calendar feed: if you enable the calendar subscription, a random feed token that links the feed URL to your account.
• Contact messages: messages you send through the contact form, together with your email so we can reply.
• Technical data: standard hosting logs (such as IP addresses) kept briefly by our hosting provider, and anonymous, cookie-free page-view counts.

What we never do

• No advertising and no ad tracking.
• No selling or sharing of your data for marketing.
• No profiling beyond showing you your own watching stats.

Services that process data for us

• Google Firebase (Google): sign-in and the database that stores your library.
• Vercel: hosting, plus privacy-friendly analytics that use no cookies and no cross-site identifiers.
• Resend: delivers contact-form notifications to our inbox.

Show metadata comes from TMDB and OMDb, but those requests are made by our server about TV shows - no personal data of yours is sent to them.

Cookies and local storage

The app stores only what it strictly needs in your browser's local storage: your Firebase session, and - once you use the theme switch - your light/dark theme choice. Both stay on your device. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies, which is why there is no cookie banner.

How long we keep data

Your account and library are kept for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account removes them permanently. Contact messages are kept as ordinary correspondence records.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can access, correct, export, and erase your data. Most of this is self-service:

• Export: use Export CSV in the footer to download your shows and watch status.
• Delete: use Delete account in the footer - it removes your account and all of your data.
• For anything else, or to complain, email contact@stvcal.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update this page and its effective date.
