What simple/tv/cal is

A free TV show tracker organised around a calendar rather than a list. You follow shows, and every episode of them, aired or upcoming, appears in a month grid. You mark episodes watched, keep a watchlist, see an unwatched backlog with catch-up time, and subscribe to your episodes as a feed in your own calendar app. It runs in a browser on any device. Bringing your history across

simple/tv/cal imports a CSV. It is not a TV Time-specific importer, so it reads a header row and looks for a column identifying the show: title (also accepted as show, series, or name), or tmdb_id, or imdb_id. Optional season and episode columns mark specific episodes, or whole seasons, as watched. Commas, semicolons, and tabs all work as separators.

If your export uses different column names, open it in a spreadsheet, rename the header row to match, and save it as CSV. That is usually the whole job. Be honest with yourself about what you have first, though: if you never exported before TV Time closed, that data is gone, and no tracker can recover it for you.

What you will miss

TV Time was a social product as much as a tracker, and simple/tv/cal is not trying to replace that half of it. There are no comments, no reactions, no friends or followers, and no community feed. There are no native iOS or Android apps either, so no push notifications: it is a website you can install to your home screen. It tracks TV shows only, not movies, and the interface is English only. There are no personal ratings or written reviews.

If those things were why you used TV Time, look at Simkl, Trakt, or Serializd instead. This is a smaller tool with a narrower job.

What you get instead

A calendar as the main view rather than a list, so what is on this week is the first thing you see. Real IMDb ratings on shows and episodes. Streaming availability per show. An unwatched backlog that tells you how many hours you are behind, with the ability to hide seasons you intend to skip. A private calendar feed you subscribe to from Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, or anything else that reads iCal. And an export button that gives you everything back in the same CSV format the importer accepts, which after this month is worth something.

One thing worth being upfront about

simple/tv/cal is run by one person as a personal project, not a company. That is exactly the position TV Time was not in, and it cuts both ways: there are no investors to demand a pivot, but there is also no team behind it. Export your data periodically wherever you keep it. The about page is straightforward about how it is run and paid for.
